21%- I have completed about 14/15 assignments. The one assignment i didnt do is commenting on others people blogs and personal pages. To me commenting is hard because people comment before me and I don't want to repeat it or say I agree.
19%- I should improve on the quality of my work and learn instead of just chasing the grade. My work compared to my class mates, tells me that i should put more effort and with more thought. My best blog post is probably the story "A Stick a Flag and a Railroad Track". I think it's the best because it put my best effort in it. Here it is

22%- My class contribution hasn't been very great due to my shyness. If one of my classmates were stuck, i would give them an idea and help them with there problem, unless i had not solution. My best blog comments are probably the ones where i write something good and something bad.

I liked how you talked about chasing the grade. I know people that do exactly what they are told, its not a bad thing but out of high school there isn't going to be anyone there to tell you what to do. Instead of doing exactly what your told to do, try doing a little extra or try adding your own ideas into the assignment somehow

DeleteYou should try to add pictures of your comments just for proof. I think if you were to be at a high B (85%, what you gave yourself.) You would contribute to the class more often rather than sitting in the back and listening. Just remember to add the screenshots.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything above, but when people say you don't talk, it's not that you don't talk at all because you do talk sometimes and contribute, it's just that you don't voluntarily talk. You should have more proof.

ReplyDeleteHimmat I think our chats (and the ones I am having with Jagdeep) keep ringing true. There is doing the work and NOT being rude, and then there is actively investing time in yourself and our class and giving your best skills to our communal success. I think you are both on your way but need to let go of the strategies of a traditional class. The things that helped you sneak through the game of school don't work very well in our structure. In the 1st section you have said you have trouble staying on task but gave yourself 96% for self regulation? That doesn't match. Thoughts?

I will remain hopeful that behind your new mark lies a bunch of thinking you just aren't sharing, and remind you that the thinking, reflective practice, and critical self assessment skills mean way more to me than the mark. I encourage you to try to make a solid case for yourself moving forward, using specific examples from you class and blog work. If you are finding you cannot do that, perhaps your aren't doing what you think you are doing?
