Song About Pressure

The song i chose is "Forever Young" by Jay-Z and Hudson. This song is about pressure because people want to stay young because there is so much pressure and stress when you grow up. This song talks about how people would rather stay young than grow old.

Let's dance in style, lets dance for a while
Heaven can wait we're only watching the skies
Hoping for the best but expecting the worst
Are you going to drop the bomb or not?
Let us die young or let us live forever
We don't have the power but we never say never
Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip
The music's for the sad men
Can you imagine when this race is won
Turn our golden faces into the sun
Praising our leaders we're getting in tune
The music's played by the madman

Forever young, i want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever forever
Forever young, i want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever
Forever young

Some are like water, some are like the heat
Some are a melody and some are the beat
Sooner or later they all will be gone
Why don't they stay young
It's so hard to get old without a cause
I don't want to perish like a fading horse
Youth is like diamonds in the sun
And diamonds are forever
So many adventures couldn't happen today
So many songs we forgot to play
So many dreams are swinging out of the blue
We let them come true

Forever young, i want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever forever
Forever young, i want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever forever forever
Forever young, i want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever forever
Forever young, i want to be forever

Love or Lust?

Love or lust? Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare is about two "lovers", who will do anything to be with each other.  Although it is the greatest "love" story ever to be written not everyone believes it is love. The love could be fake because Romeo change his mind from Rosaline to Juliet in a blink of an eye. The reason he did that was because he did not really love Rosaline he just thought he did. In actuality Romeo could have loved Juliet because, the way he shows love would be different than how Paris or anyone else would. Last but not least committing suicide for each other would be considered 'romantic' to most people but not all people.

Romeo could have felt 'real'  love towards Juliet because he killed himself to be with Juliet. Another reason he loved Juliet is because he didn't 'use' her, in other terms he actually showed affection instead of having sex and leaving. He picked his words very precisely, in other words he wouldn't say"You are the most beautiful thing i have ever seen. You are like a white dove amongst ugly crows." Instead of saying "You're hot."

To most people committing suicide would be considered 'stupid', however in this case it represents a romance and affection. If they never loved one another they would not have killed each other. In other words not even Death can stop them from being with each other. Romeo didn't

The love is fake because Romeo made his decision about Juliet based on her looks and not her personality. "O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright! It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night. Like a rich jewel in an Ethiope's ear; Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear! So shows a snowy dove trooping with crows, As yonder lady o'er her fellows shows. The measure done, I'll watch her place of stand, And, touching hers, make blessed my rude hand. Did my heart love till now? forswear it, sight! For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night." That quote best represents how Romeo made his decision about Juliet based off her looks. He also says"Did my heart love till now?" Which basically means that did his heart ever feel love before. That essentially  means that he never loved Rosaline.

The emotions  Romeo had was lust because, he made his opinion on Juliets looks not her personality. But if his love was real, the play wouldn't have ended the way it did. In fact some people would disagree. At the end of the day Romeo and Juliet still showed affection, even though it was through love or lust. And that is what matters.

Mid-Term Report

22%- I have been to every single class except for the day i was feeling sick. I have been using class time wisely but at times I would get distracted. I try to read along to Romeo and Juliet but it gets too boring for me to concentrate and to stay on task. Tweeting has been very easy to my partner (Jagdeep) and I, and i think i am doing very well to stay up to date with tweeting.

21%- I have completed about 14/15 assignments. The one assignment i didnt do is commenting on others people blogs and personal pages. To me commenting is hard because people comment before me and I don't want to repeat it or say I agree.

19%-  I should improve on the quality of my work and learn instead of just chasing the grade. My work compared to my class mates, tells me that i should put more effort and with more thought. My best blog post is probably the story "A Stick a Flag and a Railroad Track". I think it's the best because it put my best effort in it. Here it is

22%- My class contribution hasn't been very great due to my shyness. If one of my classmates were stuck, i would give them an idea and help them with there problem, unless i had not solution. My best blog comments are probably the ones where i write something good and something bad.

Soliloquies

There are many famous soliloquies  in Romeo and Juliet, but the one i have chose is "O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright. It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night. Like a rich jewel in an Ethiope’s ear, beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear. So shows a snowy dove trooping with crows as yonder lady o'er her fellows shows. The measure done, I'll watch her place of stand, and, touching hers, make blessèd my rude hand. Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night." This soliloquy  is found in Act 1 Scene 5.

I think this speech means " Her beauty is brighter than the lights. She is more dazzling than the moon. Like a shiny jewel, she is too rich for us and too precious to the Earth. Shes like a dove compared to the other crows. Which means that she is a beautiful white dove amongst ugly black crowes  Just touching her will make my dirt hand clean. Was I ever in love? I have never seen true beauty till this night.

That speech is so significant to the plot because it shows how much Romeo loves Juliet and why he likes her. For instance he says"O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright." Which means that she is brighter than the lights.  Another example of why this speech is significant to the plot is ,because it starts off the relationship between the two characters. This speech is also significant because it starts off the Relationship story of two lovers.

I like the speech because i found it pretty easy to write about. I also like it because it makes you believe that love at first sight exists. But personally I think love at first sight doesn't exist because its not love your feeling its just lust.
